I just downloaded Celestia the other day and have been exploring it since then. I found on other astronomy sites that some posters said they had made their own planets in Celestia, but I can't seem to find where to do that.

Is there some sort of planet creator add on? Or do I need to know how to write my own script for that?

Also I'd like to be able to create my own solar system as well. I see there are add ons to generate existing solar systems and things like that, but don't really see any that make your own.

So, is there an add on I can download that will let me create my own solar systems, including planets?

No, no such addon, but what you can do is download an existing fictitious system and analyze the files to see how it is done. Also some search on the forum will grant you access to valuable info to achieve your goal.

Yes just download solar systems made by others and look at the SSC files. It won't take long before you figure it out.
For making earth like planet textures I recommend getting a photoshop plugin called lunacell.

But it is quite good to know what the different parameters in the SSC files mean and can do.
