It would be nice to have a guide about how Celestia scales models and alters the coordinate origin in one place (e.g. on the WikiBook), and whether there are differences between .ssc files and .stc files in this regard. As it stands, the documentation on the WikiBook is fairly cryptic, e.g. MeshCenter is described as "Offset of the mesh with respect to its center", which isn't a very helpful description - I have no idea whether this is in model units or Celestia units, etc. etc.

Model units or Celestia units?
The normal unit is the meter and is recognized in modeling programs (good ones) and Celestia.
(Celestia uses the km internally, 1 km = 1000 m. If there are no units specified which does not happen with good modeling programs, celestia will assume it's km.)
And is thus actually pretty reproducable, transportable and understandable.

1m = 100cm = 3.2808 foot = 39.37 inch


(Correct me if I'm wrong, actually aren't sure. )
