I was wondering if someone could tell me if it's possible to plot stars inside another galaxy, eg the Triangulum Galaxy, using .stc files and how to go about it?

Thanks!

Certainly. Look here for some illustrative examples

The first examples concern stars orbiting the central black hole in the core (Sgr A*) of our own galaxy. Further on in my thread,

I discussed orbiting stars in M 31 (Andromeda galaxy).

Depending on the speed of your line, you might have to download some of my video examples before playing them locally.

Enjoy,

What I do is place myself in the galaxy of choice and then use this script http://celestiaproject.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=12209 to get my coordinates.
Then I take those coordinates and plug them into the globular cluster generator found here viewtopic.php?t=1320

Now you have thousands of stars in another galaxy. :)
