Waiting for compatibility with old URLs

Hello

I have yet posted something about that, in another forum. But I suppose it was the wrong one. The wrong post in the wrong forum (Celestia scripting) is now obsolete and can be removed. I have worked a bit more on it and I have new stuff to propose.

I read that with the next version of Celestia, we’ll be able to read the cel://urls made with previous versions.
In the meantime, I made some slight modifications to my version of Celestia (1.5.1) so that it can read old Urls.
I tested it on the URL repository that remains in the Celestia Scripting forum and with some of my own old urls.
It works fine on most cases, including the scenes involving satellites. I thing it is useful and anyway it was a good opportunity to see the worthwhile situations shown it the url repository. Some of them are really awesome.

I whish I could send you my modified version so you can test it. But I tried without success. Instead here is the function I used to have a correct view with an old Url. It takes place in the file url.cpp and it is called from the Url::goto function

I suppose that this code is rather ugly but I am not a specialist and although it is by far perfectible, it works!

Attention! These modifications are intended only for the version 1.5.1.

I am convinced that it will be better if I could send the executable so that interested people can use it directly.

Best regards and happy week end.
