Polite Request

I have been asked to post this feature request/bug report from a couple of fictional add-on creators, so
please bear with me here...

When the "Planets" option on the render menu is un-checked, spacecraft also disappear.
Is there any way to separate the viewing of spacecraft so that they can still be viewed even though
planet rendering is disabled?

Again, this has been talked about by a couple of different add-on creators, so I'm just asking
about this feature for some other folks here.
