Dwarf Planet Orbits?

Post #1by VagabondAstronomer » 30.07.2008, 18:52

Hello,
Is there a way to modify Celestia to allow me (or anyone else, for that matter) to display the orbits of the dwarf planets (currently, the 4 designated by the IAU; Ceres, Pluto, Makemake and Eris)? In the menu for version 1.5.1 (Mac OS X), you can select the orbits of planets and asteroids, and this is where the conundrum arises. Any thoughts?

The dwarf planet class is not available in v1.5.1. It is/will be available in v1.6 (currently available by compiling from source).

Someone else will have to comment on changing individual orbit colors. I can never remember if that's already in v1.5.1 or not. I know that you can change the colors of all of the orbits in a class, but that doesn't help in this case.

Sorry.

This is coming, but I do not know anything about Mac versions. If you use Windows, you can download the latest SVN version from Cartrite's Site which is HERE.

Does anyone else do - for Mac users - what Steve does for us poor, dumb, Windows Users?
Just a thought. If not, then I guess you'll just have to wait for the next Mac release.
