Hi cocacola,
The first 2 questions I'll leave for someone else. But question 3. This speed indicator is a spacecraft speed indicator. If you press the "a" key the speed increases. If you press the "z" key your speed decreases. If you press the "s" key you stop. The number pad controls directions.
Anyhow, If you look in your Celestia folder, there is a file called controls.txt. This shows what the keys on the keyboard are controling. Assuming you are using Windows and used default settings when Celestia was installed, the Celestia folder will be in your Program Files folder.

Oh yeah. regarding question 2, to my knowledge, the official version of Celestia doesn't connect to the internet and a connection is not needed for running Celestia.

As for #1, some major differences are
+ Celelestia is fully 3D, allowing you to travel through space to view things from all angles.
+ Celestia's objects orbit around one another as accurately as you want, so it can be (and is) used for real spacecraft trajectory analysis.
+ Celestia's source code is readily available, so if it doesn't do what you want, you can change it so it does.

+ Google Earth provides more and higher resolution commercial maps of the Earth
+ Google Earth provides links to many more locations and to companies associated with them.

If they really wanted to, I'm sure Google could provide much of the same functionality in Google Earth as is available in Celestia.

Eh?

The official version does indeed connect to the internet every time you
click on an "Info" tag. Bring up the Earth, right click , click on Info.

The page that's brought up in your browser is directed to
whatever site the "InfoURL" tag is pointed to. Have a look at the
Earth in "solarsys.ssc."

Just FYI, Bob

I stand corrected. That's probably why I didn't want to answer that question in my first reply.

Well, the question was
2. is celestia require internet connection in every launch like google earth...??

and Celestia certainly does not require an internet connection for every launch! The InfoURL is the only feature of Celestia that makes use of an internet connection. Otherwise the program can be used offline entirely.

If I remember correctly you can modify the ssc file containing the info urls to point to any url you want... it could be local ie. on your hard drive.

Hey! I wonder if you could use them as a program launcher? And why would you? God I need a beer!

With the .exe doesn't work; so no plugins for Celestia. Eh, eh...

Oh well... just a thought.

You may do a HTML page with buttons linked to .exe, though.

Naturally, the plugins for Celestia are the Lua scripts, but some little external astronomical programs or utility bring in from the prompt should useful; although the processor would behave as well when iconized or right clicked, otherwise there is the hang's risk.
