I think we need more info on your computer config.
How much ram, vram, etc..

Also, are you sure you installed the update correctly? The update is an ssc file that must overwrite the old one that came with the Add-On.

Well, your computer setup is certainly well within the requirements, so this is somewhat mysterious.

Can you take a screenshot of your Our_Sun folder and post the contents of the SSC and STC here?

Also, perhaps, a screenshot of what you actually see in Celestia under the various resolutions?

A lot of info, but it will help me understand what is going on.

Ok,
This shows me that everything is correct. It is the right files, in the right places!

One stupid question:
Are the HiRes folder present in the Textures folder?

Welcome to Vista...

Your Hires folder shows that it contains no textures according to the
open folder. Try clicking on the sub-folders and see if you get a folder
display like you do with lores and medres. Just a thought.

Also, is Celestia running in XP-compatible mode, or did you just install
it as a Vista program? It looks like Vista from here, but you never know.
If you installed and ran it as XP-compatible, you may have the option
to view compatible files on your toolbar when you look at the folders
a little more closely.

Just FYI... Bob

this hi-res folder on the screenshot i`ve made, is in the main dir there is no texture but in the texture folder from "th_sun" there are hi-res textures...

It looks like you have been renaming and moving things around when compared to your original screengrab. That makes it hard to understand what's happening.

However, it looks like you've put the hires virtual textures in the wrong directory. They should be in Celestia\extras\addons\th_sun\textures\hires\

I think it would be best if you started over with an empty \extras\addons\ folder: drag all of the files out of it and into some other "holding" directory, which is not in Celestia\extras\

Later you can move back any other Addons you have. If you have none, you could just delete everything that's in \addons\.

Then install (unzip) the th_sun Addon into Celestia\extras\addons\

That should create the directory Celestia\extras\addons\th_sun\ and put all of its files in the correct places inside the \th_sun\ directory.

Gotcha... If I were you, I'd listen to Selden in this case. Virtual Textures
require their own set of rules, and if there are ANY deviations, they will
not work correctly.

At any rate, I knew that you had the VT files in your hires folder, but I
was just trying to get you to look at the sub-folders for more information.
No problem, and I hope you have better luck than I have on your
machine.

I think I'm getting it though...

EDIT: By the way, you don't have any of these textures in your medres
folder, do you? Celestia will look there first, so I just thought I'd ask.
Again, just FYI...

Thanks, Bob

yea true in the first screenshot i had it correctly but because i reinstalled celestia a few times i forget to copy "th_sun" folder to the addons folder but it change nothing and i didnt move any files or renaming just installed celestia and put the addon "th_sun" in the Celestia\extras\addons\ its my first addon for celestia... (i dont know what i can try...) :(

I know what you did sounds like it should be the same, but please try reinstalling the addon from scratch:
+ delete your addons directory and all of its contents.
(drag the folder icon to the wastebasket)
+ create a new addons directory
+ double click on the icon for th_sun.zip
+ click on the "extract all files" button
+ restore to the new Celestia\extras\addons folder

[edit]
The zip file is, of course, actually rthorvalds_sun.zip
when you do the "extract all", it will create a directory tree that has more levels than is absolutely necessary, but it'll work fine, so don't mess with it.
[/edit]

Once it is installed correctly, here's what you should see after typing the appropriate number of "r" and "R" commands after starting from this Cel:// URL:

Sunspot_with_flare

ImageImageImage

(these thumbnails link to much larger images)
Scrolling in closer won't gain much more in resolution.
