But why is the Earths diameter mesured as half its size in kilometers in Celestia? according to this book I have the earths actual size is 12,756 km...Is the diameter variable not set up in kilometers?

Size is given as the radius, which is half of the diameter.

Ahh thanks...

Now I see my mistake I was mistaking radius for diameter...

Ah, yes, those pesky kilometres....
How about an option for old-fashioned miles ? Not that it makes much difference on planetery sizes.

No way ;)

the system with inches, feet, yards and miles is f*cked up ;)
I mean, come on ... 12 inches = 1 foot ... etc .. that's like back in the middle age ;)

1000 mm = 1m 1000m = 1km .. that's much more logical ;)

Heck yeah! Introduce the metric system in time... :D Imperial measures are completely useless. Unless you enjoy a future where we all have 12 fingers and 7 toes...

Metric is all right once you get used to it, but we all new what was what when we used proper measurement like furlongs, chains, and niblets.
