Problem in running Celestia with windows vista

I have a computer with Windows Vista Home Premium, 2046 MB of Ram, and a video-card ATI mobility radeon X-1400, processore Intel Core (TM)2 CPU T5200 1,60 GHz, 32 bit.
The version of Celestia I try to run is Celestia 1.4.1.

The problem is that when I move the view in Celestia the program doesn't go well. What can I do?

In another computer I have with windows xp and a video-card Nvidia GE-Force X5200 goes all well.

Thanks in advance.

Matteo

Celestia uses OpenGL/OpenGL2, so my guess here is that ATI's support of those APIs isn't that good under Vista yet.

There seems to be some discussion around this at...

Actually ATI's latest drivers v7.3 works very well in OpenGL. Be sure you have the latest drivers and you should be okay. Download them from http://ati.amd.com/

You're running Celestia on a dual-core system. We have a recent post discussing the issue. You might want to check it out.

I have the same problem with a same configuration exept dual-core 7200 ant a ati 1750 on a laptop azus.

Windows vista refuse to run catalyst drivers and celestia don't' run properly (catastrophic)
My "old" 2400XP is realy faster (1.5 mb)
Vista with 2 mb memory is too short this os require munch more memory than XP. Windows Vista Basic can use 12gb of memory and 128gb for others vista version.
I'm a computer 's dealer and i have any computer in my store with 4 mb of ram. (La Fnac first PC dealer in Fran?§e)

Lot of people return their vista computer in Fnac and ask for Windows XP.

Since Yesterday you can try ATI-catalyst new-driver , they said that there it is fully vista compatible......try it
