odd visual effects

Sometimes when I move positions or run certain scripts all the stars seem to appear as lines, coming from, I think our sun.

I got this when i ran the URL from the scipting manual:

cel://Chase/Sol:Earth:Moon/2003-08-21T0 ... 1&lm=49152

Any thoughts? Is ti possibly due to settings on my computer?
