nobbie seeking some guidence

Post #1by zekopeko » 04.11.2006, 13:18

hi!

just installed the celestia autopackage on my ubuntu edgy eft .
celestia installs in /usr/share/celestia/.

the problem is that i don't have enough space on my root partition to install all of the addons.

so i was wondering if it is possible to symlink the extras folder to home/zekopeko/Celestia/extras?

a friend proposed this
ls -s /home/zekopeko/Celestia/extras/ extras
but it didn't work.

in home/zekopeko/Celestia/extras i have fightspit's Blue Marble Next Gen VT of Earth and i couldn't change it with the right click in Celestia

What you need to do is to find the celestia.cfg file in your installation. You can open and edit it with any text editing program. Once you find it you need to edit it to add a new extras directory, this can be on any drive. The file itself contains instructions on how to do this .

Good Luck
