Hello friends,
This is just for info; by very frequent way I mean daily, knowing them by heart...

Do you mean stuff like Ctrl-Z for Undo and Ctrl-X for cut and stuff like that?

I'm guessing ElChristou means Celestia-specific shortcuts.
I mostly use Enter (console), g(o), Esc, space (pause), j/k/l (time rate), o(rbits), r (texture Resolution), i (cloud toggle), / (constellations), arrow keys (with/without the Shift key), Page Up/Down. That's almost 20 - I guess I underestimated a bit when I voted 5-10.

Hm... I use Enter and type in the name to go somewhere. I use j/k/l to control timeflow. I use : to toggle the grid. I use < and > to control FOV. Ctrl+K to toggle markers, Ctrl-G to land, Ctrl-F to switch to alt-azimuth. That's basically it though. I'll call it 10-15 in case I forgot some obvious ones
.
Otherwise I use the mousewheel to approach or retreat from a target. I use the mouse to look around. I use the Render Options menu to toggle other stuff like orbits and galaxies and so on - I could use the shortcuts for those but I haven't got around to learning the shortcuts
.
I've never really used Celestia to actually fly around under my own steam (ie to accelerate, decelerate, etc) - for one thing I find it's too uncontrollable.
Outside of Celestia I use shortcuts a hell of a lot (in things like Word, Excel etc). I find having both hands on the keyboard is a lot more efficient for other non-graphical apps than using the mouse and one hand on the keyboard.

Yep, should be more specific; I'm asking for specific Celestia shortcuts...

More than 80 views, 14 votes...
Guys, if you could take 3 secondes of your time to click on 2 buttons it would be great...

ElChristou,
Don't forget that there are many Guest readers who cannot participate because they're not registered with the forum.
Right now there is only 1 registered viewer and 14 Guests, for example.

Also, Polls on message boards are traditionally completely useless. We've got about a thousand active members, of which about 10%-15% actually post with any frequency, and most of those probably don't care enough to post an opinion in a poll.
So it's not exactly going to be a statistically meaningful result

Ah?... what a pity... Guest readers should be able to vote...

I'm one of them
I obviously spend a lot of time with Celestia, though there are still a few shortcuts that I forget. I just recently rediscovered Ctrl+G, even though I think I was the one that implemented it.

Ah yes... Ctrl+G... very practical indeed... I must confess I've never used it

I could add a "phone home" function to Celestia that surreptitiously logs and mails me the habits of... oh wait, that would be so wrong.

Just FYI and from a long time user...
I use the rate and speed commands frequently ("k" and "l"). Also ENTER
followed by the location I'm interested in. I also simply LOVE the fact
that I can get to Mars quickly by typing a "4" and "g." Frequently also
use "Home" to get closer, "End" to back off, "f" to follow and "c" to center.
I'd also like to point out that you can also print out a VERY nice shortcut
page by downloading the Celestia key map from the CML. Sorry, I don't
remember who created the document, but it is very handy for us
Brain-Dead types.
