Another view of Gliese 876 orbital evolution, this time the trajectory of planet c (in red) with the orbit of b in the background. Add-on coming as soon as it gets past the Celestia Motherlode submission process.

Now that is cool. Did you incorporate the recent HARPS-derived inclinations?

Hi, it’s me again. I’m pretty busy now and I don’t have time what I need, this is normal thing in high school. Now we (students) have time called session, a lot of exams, so my work with fictional Avatar system is very slow or even stop. On this screen you all can see what I do. Now I have only gas gigantic Polyphemus with moon’s of course with Pandora. I have maybe 60% work to do, I have plan to add asteroid belts, and two planets. Just like in this video.

Promised screen, Pandora with other moon's and Polyphemus.

Have nice day :-)

No this is the radial velocity+astrometry solution (Bean & Seifahrt 2009). Since these results incorporate astrometric measurements, we have a fully specified orientation for the outer two planets (planet d is taken to be coplanar with b). The HARPS results (Correia et al. 2010) are radial velocity only - thanks to the rapid evolution of the system due to planet-planet interaction, they can extract the inclinations and the difference between the longitudes of the ascending node, but the absolute value of the ascending node is unconstrained. This is the same case for the planets of PSR B1257+12: the difference between the longitudes of the ascending node can be constrained from the timing measurements to be about 3 degrees (Konacki & Wolszczan 2003), but the absolute values are unknown.

Unfortunately the two sets of orbital elements cannot be directly compared because the parameters are quoted for different epochs. The interval is just under 7 years, and this is quite a substantial fraction of a precession cycle, which makes combining the two solutions more difficult. I may get round to it eventually, but the add-on as it stands provides a good idea of just how this system behaves. (I also think it shows why we do need an osculating orbit display, and perhaps also indication on the orbits of where the periapsis is located: at present it is difficult to see the relative orientations of the orbits in Celestia, which is key in understanding the resonant dynamics).

really nice, you just need to correct the color curves and you are done.

Well time for a few more pictures of the movie planets.
I have included a compare as Milosz21 did.

But have a real close look at my Pandora and compare it with the movie shot.

Move!

I think I have it nailed!

Well for the most part. I have a second party contact that knows the artist that rendered these shots for the movie, I have yet to pass then along to him, but if he is OK with them I may release them.

Hey this is all for fun anyway

New screens of fictional Avatar system, I changed some things on gas giant to make planet looks much better, especially the big blue cyclone. Planet is brighter and have whole colors what you all saw in movie. I guess my job is finished, but all feedback are welcome.

Thought I would post a picture of an all new texture I am working on. I call it Islands in the Sky.
It's about 1/3 done but looking very good so far. This picture is of the texture downsized from
16K so I could check it out in Celestia. Click the picture for the full size image.
Enjoy! ;)
