PS: Runar's amazingly funny creation came about, after the two of us were chatting like so in CM:
R: Just looked us up on Alexa: we are currently the 2,701,291st most popular website in the world. Shatters is about ten times better known.
F: How are we doing relative to Obama's site ?
R: Well, since we don?t have Action Figures fashioned after us yet, his site must be more popular...
F: Amazing! I want to have a t00fri action figure!!!
R: Here you go!!

Re: Post your Celestia pictures!
You know..... with a full line of "CM Dev Team" action figures, you guys could make a fortune!!
Re: Post your Celestia pictures!
I would like one of those! I wonder if the Luger is significant.
regards...bh.
Re: Post your Celestia pictures!
You can?t expect a german action figure to use a foreign weapon. Just wait for the upcoming rthorvald figure with it?s viking axe, not to mention the ElChristou one - armed with hard-hitting escargot shells.bh wrote:I would like one of those! I wonder if the Luger is significant.

Just a quick observation from the Brain-Dead side...
You people are simply NUTS!
I have saved the aforementioned picture to my PC for future inquiries to the
CM, and I have been laughing ever since I saw the picture.
Many thanks for the entertainment here.

Ten Jupiter-like gas giants
http://img24.imageshack.us/img24/3382/gasgiantsay4.jpg
all made from chopped up images of Jupiter, but very much altered and edited.
Still, I've tried to keep the colours within reasonable limits...

Re: Post your Celestia pictures!
Well, I'll be adding them to the new OA systems when we make them; but they are available from the OA Celestia Yahoo group already. (in the files section). Using a variety of semitransparent cloud overlays and ring systems the total number of different options can be pushed up into the hundreds.
Re: Post your Celestia pictures!
Still working on color adjustments and hull registries.
Don't worry, the spotlights will be a more pale color.

Re: Post your Celestia pictures!
jogad, those images are impressive, and beautiful too. The last one looks a little out of scale though - is that so? Very nice work otherwise!

View of Independence - Epsilon Eridani
July 2nd 2875
The Last Ships touch down at the start of the "Great Social Experiment", a project in human social evolution. 50,000 people are stranded on the surface with Iron Age technology and left to fend for themselves. It is expected to last 2000 years.
The Epsilon Eridani system is the Capital of the Alliance/Federation. When it was first surveyed by the Feynman in 2329, the twin worlds of Hades and Tartaurus were discovered. These Venusian type worlds orbited each other in 1 day 15 hours, tidally locked to each other. In 2435 plans were set in motion to Teraform these 2 worlds and over 400 years later the worlds were ready for Human habitation. Independence became the De-Facto financial capital of the Alliance/Federation and Experiment was given over to the scientific experiment.

Arctica - 40 Eridani A
October 15th 2626
This Cold world hugs a Brown Dwarf called McCarthy, itself orbiting 40 Eridani A. the world is in the grip of a permanent ice age and only the equator is ice free, mainly due to a briny ocean. Rings encircle the world, a testament to the huge amounts of debris swirling around 40 Eridani A.

Re: Post your Celestia pictures!
Spending some time checking out v1.5.1 for a bit, pretty much for the first time since I'd installed it actually (I still can't get Celestia to see my OpenGL drivers lol)... I decided to hop on over to Jupiter, a favorite of mine to gaze at, Saturn too. Wow! Perfect timing!!!
