I just finished my first 128k VT, from a 110k Moon global texture. I used only Gimp and IrfanView. It is 7GB and not very practical. A few pictures to show the quality of the 128k VT:

Thank you bh! I think that future Celestia releases should contain (optionally) 100-200 GB texture and star data, as modern games do.

This is extracted from Linuxman's recent ISS scenario.... Not yet released I think.

Is based on the NASA hr model (based on my older models).

I managed to extract all three shuttles in various configs.
