By transparency I suppose you are talking about the depth sorting problem; recently Chris has explain why this problem cannot be solved (try searching in last month posts).

elChristou - I think actually you're UNDERstating the glare in your Earth/Sun images (this could possibly be because we're not using HDR here though). I don't think you'd see the 'brown ring' around the Earth at all in the second image, you'd just see a much bigger glare from the sun.

I think your bottom images are probably on the right track though. But perhaps the earth should stay overcontrasted - it IS going to be a major light source this close to it.

You wouldn't see the lens flare.

So we're after an effect somewhat similar to that displayed in this panorama (Java applet) then?

I'm talking about the images with the illuminated Earth in them, not the top three.

But you WOULD see lens flare in space. As I mentioned above, you're either looking through a window, a spacesuit visor, or the vitreous humour in your eyes - it is inescapable.

In those images I'm just doing a supposition; so I was wondering if the atmosphere won't propage the light?

But what kind of Lens flare effect in this case? someone as an idea?

Yep, see how the sky become dark when watching the sun? in the same way, the stars would fade in Celastia if the sun enter the screen...
