Search the forum. Many (all ?) of these models have been published so you can build your own sceneries.

Use keywords like "sprites", or "sprites based models", "accretion disks", "sprites nebula", etc...

You can also see these topics :

Today, I made a small experiment that turned out to be very interesting. I'll probably make an addon from this.
The impact on the frame rate is pretty high, though, since there are three large sprites models superposed.

Three more pictures of today's experiment (as usual, click the picts to get a larger version) :

Take note that there isn't any texture used in these models. Just sprites...

A long while ago, I saw an image on deviantart that featured a user's fictional rendition of the Kepler-16 system in Celestia, and was inspired by his image to make a bunch of similar images involving Delta Tri, although admittably nowhere near as dramatic.

The first three, I attempted to be realistic, where the second three were a bit more artistic, so to speak.

(All images clickable for larger versions :) )

In the mean-time, I gave Belle Hades a huge overhaul, replacing the cloudmap and significantly improving the surface texture, including bumping it up to 4k. Clouds are still 2k though. :P I love my cloud rotations. :P

Yes, that line of dots is exactly what you think it is: Geostationary satellites! :D. Thank you asteroid maker! The green star in the pic is a background planet.

Also, two of the pics in this post may have slightly bad quality; stupid imgur converted them to .jpg without my consent. :x

Object in 3D. :)

Very interesting.

How have you made it ? Textures on a mesh ?

EDIT : some stars are visible on the texture, so it's not really 3D. If you move inside, you'll feel the texture mapped on a curvy mesh.

I just realized I posed this in the wrong thread. :?

Would it be possible to move this post to the custom sci-fi picture thread where it belongs? :)

Thanks. :)

Hi.
I find your 3D nebula model very interesting, will you make it available, please?
I would like to try to mix it with a bunch of real (but fictional, obviously!) stars inside it.
Thank you, appreciated.
Bye

Goofy :-)

Are you sure you haven't confused me for someone else? ;) I myself have no clue which models you're referring to regardless.

Hi PlutonianEmpire, you are obviously right, I pressed the "quote" button of the wrong message .
My post was for argelesmer and his notable nebula.
So, please argelesmer, could you make it available for downloading?
Thanks a lot.
Bye

Goofy :)

This spectacular view is from Earth. I had this in a dream last night. What the dream was about, was that It was the world was gonna end. There were coming a hail of comets towards Earth. A few hours before it happened, you could look up in the sky and see this. In the dream, I were standing outside with my parents and many other, outside my house, and we were looking on 4 comets in the sky. At the north sky. There were said that the comet ISON caused this event, that it would happen in November this year.

Celestia's standard galactic model is turned OFF on both pictures.

Dust ring experiment with sprites. Very different rendering than the last pictures I've shown...

It's the first time I try to use plain opaque disks (i.e. non-blurry) to simulate big rocks and grains.

Edit : A modification, just for a cool view :

Hey Cham, congratulations, your sprites rocks look very exciting.
I'm imaging them, white in color, moving within Saturn rings, and so on.
Will you make this available for testing, please?
Thanks a lor for all what you are doing here with sprites, appreciated.
bye

Yes, I intend to release the planet with dust rings, as a small addon for Fomalhaut (star with an accretion disk of dust).

Probably in the next few days...
