bh,

Are you willing to share the changes you had to make?
Maybe I can add appropriate instructions on one of my Web pages.

Selden... I really don't know what's been happening with this one....here goes.

I move the vt ssc out of the vt folder and into the extras folder and got a pink mars.

Right click on Mars in Celestia and got 'DBradyMars DDS' as an alternate.

I then moved the vt ssc back into the vt folder...'DBradyMars DDS'.

Everything then worked!

I don't understand it. I did a defrag and scan disk...It took a couple of goes to get scandisk to work...but all seems fine now. I am thinking it was a windows issue.

Many thanks for all your help on this one.

Btw...I get a very choppy performance with this textuxe...any help here?
1.3 celeron, 256 Ram, GForce2 400mx latest drivers.

Many regards...bh, and many thanks DBrady...what a job!

Apologies for not getting back sooner,

If memory serves, the directory FlatMars was incorrectly referenced as MarsFlat (or vice versa) in one of the text files. Might be worth a quick check - and if it is true, is actually an issue for DBrady as it was part of the download.

Thanks again all.

bh,

To improve Celestia's performance

1) add as much main memory to your system as you can afford (to avoid paging to disk: 256MB really isn't enough any more)

2) get a higher performance disk drive (to reduce I/O wait times for loading files and paging)
