Exo-planets

As of today John Van Vliet, Hungry4info and the CM staff have initiated an Exo-planet workshop.

I'd love to see at CM a lively and knowledgable discussion about this important subject.
Of course, the idea is to eventually distill the credible results into celestia.Sci.

Here is a celestia.Sci screenshot of the tightly wound Sa-type NGC 38 with its star halo (from recent Hubble observations) and a bright foreground star. So you may get a feel already what the new feature looks like for any of the 10000+ celestia.Sci galaxies:

Do you know why ?

I have recently updated the phpbb software of the Celestial Matters forum to the latest version. It was absolutely necessary to keep spammers and other unwanted users out.

Unfortunately, a number of our nice custom display features could not be adapted easily. Re-installing them is still planned, but will surely take additional time. The output about active subjects in the CM forum on the right border of the CM Web site is one such custom feature. Since some old custom styled pages cannot be rendered anymore now, they appear as "not found".

ibiblio provides web space for the Celestia Motherlode. Unfortunately, ibiblio suffered a major system failure. They're still working on restoring services.
