Setting time
Setting time
I suppose this is a feature (or a FAQ) but I can't set the time directly earlier than about 1770 AD. I know I can "back up" the calendar but it is slow and tedious. Any workarounds I could use?

One workaround is to edit the favorites.cel file. I copied another entry and changed the time:
"1000AD" {
isFolder false
parentFolder ""
base [ 0.003247301097505698 2.816924692106845e-008 -6.229881270906524e-006 ]
offset [ -1.143976406658975e-013 -8.673617379884036e-019 -2.906746024433637e-016 ]
axis [ 0.85455 -0.0353707 -0.518163 ]
angle 3.15974
time 2086308
selection "#0/Earth"
coordsys "geographic"
}
The time is a Julian Date which I got from the JD calculator of U.S. Naval Observatory (http://aa.usno.navy.mil/data/docs/JulianDate.html). It may not be pretty but it works.
