Stellar Age & Metallicity

Post #1by Cassiopeian » 02.01.2003, 23:55

Good evening,
current star information include Class, Surface Temperature and Radius. Would be great if the next version of Celestia could also include presence of

1) Heavy Elements and

2) Stellar Age

(in percentage or increments of Sol and billions of years, respectively).

These factors are of vital importance when determining ET and extraterrestrial intelligence plausibility as well as Terran colonization suitability. :P

At the "Astronomy Nexus", age is given for the nearest sunlike stars, so this information should be readily available from somewhere.
