fsgregs,

don't worry, I intend to replace all the fictious nebulae with new ones, with better (simpler) model handling.

I may do it in the following days.

Okay Bob, please trash the other nebulae pack from my directory (Fictious Nebulae 2). I'll upload another version including a total of 15 nebulae.

Fictitious nebula package number two will be deleted in a moment.
I'm good at deleting things.

Thanks,

There should be two new nebulae packs in the incoming folder.

Appreciate that Martin... The faster we can get the ML updated with
new add-ons, the better I like it. I still don't have the ability to add
new uploads though. I think that Ulrich is waiting to see if I'm gonna
do something really stupid before he commits me to that level of
authority.

No problem here though. I've got PLENTY to do at the moment.

Bob, can you confirm that there's a second nebula pack, for pulsars, in the incoming folder ? I uploaded it with my browser, and didn't got any feedback from it, after the upload. Seems buggy to me.

Sorry,

As I mentioned earlier, I have NO access to anything in-coming.
Send an e-mail to Ulrich, and thanks for uploading the new stuff.

Take care, Bob

No, Martin, there was only one pack:

Then the upload method using HTTP is buggy. I'm unable to upload anything with this method, even for a file of about 2 MB.

I'll re-upload it right now using FTP.

Martin, please do not communicate CML issues in the forums. Use the contact form or email to the CML. Thanks.

Ok, the second nebula addon is uploaded (for pulsars, in this case).

Motherlode right now.... Bob

Hello Bob, first of all thanks a lot for what you are doing for Motherlode, giving your precious help to make things more enjoyable and easy to be found and used. :D
BTW, a little suggestion:
actually the addon issuing date is shown only in their relevant web pages, but I think that it could be more useful to have it in the general page (i.e. where ALL the addons on the same subject are shown).
This because for many subjects there is a lot of possible addons to be chosen, so that their issuing dates could be of help for a first selection.
My little cent.
Bye

Hey Bob,
Here is a heads up with one of my addons. Katrina. The model on the motherlode doesn't work with Celestia 1.5prex anymore. I'm not going to try to update it until after Celestia 1.5 is released due to possible code changes. I think it still may work in Celestia 1.4.1 but it was designed to work with 1.5 though until a code change broke it.

Thanks very much my friend...

I haven't gotten to that section yet, but it IS next and I
very much appreciate the heads-up.

We're getting there, slowly but surely. I'm also downloading and
testing each add-on before I make any hasty conclusions, so I'll
see if it works in either 1.4.1 or the current 1.5 Pre5.

Again, I appreciate the help here.

Take care, Bob

Andrea, I appreciate the proposal, but I have NO control over the
general page. You'll have to ask Ulrich about that stuff. I am making
comments in the add-ons for which I can VERIFY a version number or
issue date, but they are few and far between right now.

Either that, or I simply just don't know what the Hell I'm doing.
Always a possibility with me.

At any rate, thanks for the comments.

Take care, Brain-Dead

Which code change? If a Celestia bug is responsible, I'd like to try and fix it.

chris,
Remember, we went through this a while ago. It was something about opacity. I had to add this line to the model.

Code: Select all

opacity 0.99
As near as I can tell it happened after May and before August of this year. Anyhow I updated the model and uploaded to my web site. Since 1.5 is not final yet, I wanted to wait and see if the model still works with the official release and fix it if it doesn't. That way I won't cause someone "extra" work at the ML. The katrina model at the ML doesn't have that line and is invisible. Apparently it doesn't work with 1.4.1 either but it does work with my gtk auto install version. Although it is limited because it was built to use OGL2 rendering from 1.5.
