I don't think there's a problem here. On my (french) system, the locations on Mars and Io are displayed in their standard Latin name. This is also the case for the Moon.

The location on Earth are correctly translated in the language of the system locale.

I confirm, the marsian locations are not included in the catalog file and may not appear translated whatever your system settings.

The only data files included for translation are solarsys.ssc and earth_locs.ssc as specified in po/Rules-data.

That would probably explain why I thought it was French... I'm seeing "Olympus Rupes". (which I assume is Latin). I expected to see the common (or traditional) name "Olympus Mons" (which I guess would be the same in both French and English translations, if they existed).

If you look in the file mars_locs.ssc you will discover that Olympus Mons and Olympus Rupes are defined to be at exactly the same location, which isn't appropriate. I suspect a round-off error somewhere. According to the USGS Web site, Olympus Rupes is a scarp on the southeastern flank of Olympus Mons.
