Add-on not working

I have installed Celestia 1.2.4 on Windows 2000.

I have downloaded the starwars add-on and uncompressed it in the celestia directory. But celestia cannot find any of the add-on definded planets.

Am I doing something wrong?

Thanks.

you need to sort all the files into seperate directories, all pictures go into celestia\textures\medres all .3ds filed go into celestia\models\ and all .ssc files go into celestia\extras\

It's just this way how the zip is arranged:

extras\StarWars.ssc
models\Dstar.3DS
textures\medres\DS_01.jpg
... all other textures

So I just uncompressed this zip in the celestia directoty. Then I start celestia and everything seems OK (it give me no errors) but I cannot locate Endor nor any of the ssc defined objects (with Navigation -> Select Object).

Shoud I configure something in the celestia configuration file? Has anybody a positive (working) experience whith add-ons in celestia?

Thanks.

There is an error in StarWars.ssc
The entry for Endor specifies Endor.png
The correct filename is Endor.jpg

It'd be nice if Celestia generated an error message for situations like this :(

You can use Notepad to fix the problem, though.

Perhaps the author could be persuaded to make a corrected distrbution kit available? And include a starwars-readme.txt in the new kit, too?

I have changed this file (from png to jpg) and still cannot see the new elements.

I've even dowloaded one other plug-in (sputinik satellite) just to test my installation and everithing works ok for this one. So I think there are some incompatibilities between the starwars plug-in and my celestia version.

Any positive experience with this plug-in in celesta 1.2.4 windows?

Thanks

From the Celestia Hub http://bruckner.homelinux.net/addons.html

It is Starwars.zip from Thomas Guilpain

I've finally made this work!

SOLUTION: Download the zip from the author's website http://members.fortunecity.com/guilpain/ and change Endor.png to Endor.jpg in the ssc file.

Thanks.

Hi
I'm sorry for the problem you've encountered with my add-on, that's right I made some mistake before releasing it, so once for all :

Download the Starwars add-on from my website http://members.fortunecity.com/guilpain/ it is a modified version in which I added a readme which explains that the planets are located around the star Rho Crb (or HP 143761).
And I thought I had fixed the problem with the texture name but apparently not so I'll do it soon.
