I saw a link to Celestia from some site about how major motion picture studios use linux or whatever, and I was wondering if there was a way to get high definition video output (1920x1080). I looked at the gallery and I like the quality of the texture maps (better than what I could do in Blender). Then I saw in Wikipedia that output is up to NTSC resolution. I'm going to try the program tonight, and see what I think. I want to use it for a high quality scifi production of some sort, I just wanted to do it in hi def. Thanks,

Sorry, Celestia v1.4.1 does not produce movies in hi-def resolutions.
However, when built from the current sources in SourceForge's CVS archive, the Windows version of Celestia can generate 1280x720 and 1920x1080 at up to 30 fps. Of course, you'll need movie creation software that can handle those resolutions.
