Question about Nebula add-on

Hello all, I am new to Celestia and have been going through the add-on guide trying to get acquainted with the program. I encountered a peculiarity with the simple nebula add-on in the guide and after some research with no luck decided to come and post here.

The NGC 3372 nebula just shows up as a 2D rectangle floating in space. The full image is there but it's just a small rectangle, not a 3D image. Is that how it is supposed to look? I downloaded and unziped the file into my "addons" folder within the "extras" folder. I double checked to make sure all the files were in the right place and it looked like they were. Any suggestions?

Thanks much!

Yes, that's exactly what that example is supposed to look like. It's just a 2D "billboard".

You may have overlooked the description:
Note that this model doesn't define a complicated 3D shape for
the nebula itself. Instead, it's just a thin rectangular block
for holding a photograph of the nebula. To learn how to use
"billboards" to display astronomical photographs in Celestia,
please see <a href="billboard.html">billboard.html</a>.
