Greetings, all.
I have been away from Celestia for a while, but recently my astronomy bug has been activated again. I have a number of questions about where the program is by now, but my biggest two questions are: a) will my computer handle the current version; and b) will my existing planet textures still work?
Sorry, I'm at the office, so I can't give you the version number I currently have at the moment.
Any tips and info appreciated!

Quick answers to both are "Yes."

Except that you won't see all of the available eye candy unless your graphics card supports OpenGL v2.0.

Okay, it looks like I have v1.3.2 installed. I was looking around for Celestia history document so I could find at a glance what I've missed. Is there such a thing? Haven't found it yet...

A detailed account is in the File "Changelog" that is part of the Celestia sources. This is the standard history file practically for every Open Source project. If you installed only a binary version of Celestia, the Changelog file is probably missing along with quite a few (valuable) other files.

Celestia v1.4.1 downloads are available on SourceForge at
http://sourceforge.net/project/showfile ... p_id=21302
or you can get them by way of the official Celestia Web site (which redirects requests to SourceForge)
http://www.celestiaproject.net/celestia/download.html
Don't try to use a download accelerator: they can't work.

The current Changelog is available at
http://celestia.cvs.sourceforge.net/cel ... iew=markup
It includes the changes that have been made for Celestia v1.5.0; additional bug fixes are planned.

An official Celestia v1.5.0pre2 for Windows is available at
http://www.celestiaproject.net/~claurel/celest ... .0pre2.exe

An unofficial Celestia v1.5.0pre2 for MacOS is described at http://www.celestiaproject.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=10541&

It's available on http://stevenbinder.net/
