Sattelite orbits are hidden by earth

Post #1by bugmeyes » 08.07.2006, 08:31

Hello everybody,
I have a very strange display bug in celestia for linux...

The sattelite orbits around earth are displayed behind earth when they should be displayed in front. I will do an ascii art to understand what I mean. I will draw orbits like ---- and earth like ( ).

The orbit shoulb be displayed in front of earth like that:
-(--)-

Instead it gets displayed like that:
-( )-

I use celestia-gnome downloaded from the repositories of ubuntu 6.06 and I have an ati radeon 9600 pro video card that work with the fglrx drivers which works ok in other 3d apps like blender or planetpenguinracer.

Any ideas?

Ubuntu comes with 1.3.2. This bug was fixed in 1.4.0.

thanks a lot mate!

I am making an "apt-get build-dep" to find what I will need to compile celestia from source and on monday (when I will have fast internet again) I am going to download the sources.
