Post #1by Darkmiss » 14.10.2002, 22:05

So how do i change the SSC files to make an orbject only appear between certain dates.
with the newbeta 6 release.

And dose anyone have acurate dates for Mir, Skylab, Apollo10, 11, and Sputik. ?

Oh and the other probes, such as voyagers and mars probes ?

I don't have the launch dates for those spacecraft, but I can tell you how to specify start and end dates for an object. Add one or both lines to the object description:

Code: Select all

Beginning    <JD0>
Ending         <JD1>

Where <JD0> and <JD1> are Julian dates. To convert from calendar date to a Julian date, you can use this handy little web page:

Can we expect changes to the spacecraft entries (like Mir) in a future release to accomodate this feature?

Definitely. In fact, I've already done this on my version of .ssc . . . Since I just release the exe for prerelease 6, no one else has the new file yet.
