Reproduction of (apparent) magnitude of stars in celestia

Hello ,i have a question how can celestia calculate the magnitude of all the stars shown in celestia a specified distance? When you travel to a selected star ,you can see what its visible apparent magnitude will be at the distance where you are at that moment. Can you explain me how you have done that? Thank you.

Just enter "apparent magnitude" into Google or consult any textbook about astronomy.
