Is there any documentation about keyboard shortcuts in Celestia? I didn't compile the gui (I found compiling GtkGlArea almost impossible).

What is so problematic with GtkGlArea??? Every reasonably modern Linux installation should compile provided all required libraries are properly installed.
Look at the file controls.txt in the top Celestia directory as long as the GUI does not yet work. If it works, Click at Help->Controls (What else;-))
