Hi, I've just downloaded Celestia, and I think it's an awesome piece of software, my physics teacher will go nuts over it. Thanks to the maker(s), for making it and for distributing it for free.
A quick question, though: is there any way to show the milky way galaxy iin a simpler form, maybe only a few big sprites instead of hundreds of puffs? Whenever I enable galaxies, my framrate takes a huge hit. I'm running Windows XP Pro on a Pentium 4 1.7GHz, with 256MB RAM (dunno what type) and a GeForce 2 MX400 64MB.
Hi there!
you shouldn't be getting lag with a system like that
I have a P4 1.5 with 512meg, with a Geforce 2 GTS 64
I have everything turned on
Plus I have added large Textures for Earth (43meg), Mars (21meg),
and the Moon (12meg).
and the 10000 stars data file installed
Then it only just gets slightly jerky, if I have all stars showing
What video Drivers are you useing
if your not useing them, use the latest Detonator4 drivers (40.71)
from http://www.nvidia.com
