simulation of a whole interplanetary mission

I want to simulate an interplanetary mission :
Start of the launcher, separation of the different stages of the launcher, changing the trajectorie of the spacecraft / satellite, orbiting of the satellite around a planet, changing the orientation of the antennas parabols, desorbiting of the satellite (or a part of it), landing, restarting...

Is it possible to simulate such an interplanetary mission with celestia.
If yes, what do i need for that (trajectories datas, spacecraft datas, is scripting language enough? do i need to developp something specific ?)
If not, do yo know a software doing that ?

Has anybody done that : do you have exemples, samples ?

There is a freeware space-flight sim that is designed to do just that (which include the most realitsic nevtonian physics simulator to date): Martin Schweiger's ORBITER

I really recomend it to everyone interested in space and interplanetary flight.

As a extremely accurate Nevtonian Physics Simulator; Orbiter is extremely realistic and extremely hard at first, with a very steep learning curve.
But one you get used to it after a few days: you will be hooked (at least; I was, and still am). :wink:

In Orbiter you can go anywhere in the Sol system: from Mercury to Pluto.
Real-time; real deal; Orbiter is the best space-flight simulator to date, pluss that it is highly mod-compatible.

You can participate in the historical Apollo 11 mission, or take the Atlantis space shuttle to the ISS (including all sequences that is required in real-life), or even fly the futuristic interplanetary space-ship named Delta Glider.

There is no real missions in Orbiter, no real limits for what you can do.
But to get the most out of it, you should have some basic knowledge of nevtonian physics and celestial mechanics. :)
