Display Problems

Post #1by TourqeGlare » 08.08.2005, 05:45

Hey, I have a problem.
This is the enterprise a in anima8or

This is the same model on the same computer but in Celestia
Image

I have another PC that I do my art on and Celestia looks great on it
(but its not mine, thats why I'm bitching).

How come the ship looks good in Anima8or?
Is it Celestia? My PC? What?

My PC specs
Vendor: Microsoft Corporation
Renderer: GDI Generic
Version: 1.1.0
Max simultaneous textures: 1
Max texture size: 1024

Supported Extensions:
GL_WIN_swap_hint
GL_EXT_bgra
GL_EXT_paletted_texture

Is it in orbit around a planet or around the sun?

There seems to be a bug in Celestia related to model illumination when the model is orbiting a planet. It seems worse on 3D displays with less capability.

Tis.
Its around Venus.
Would it work if I somehow "derailed" the orbit? :?:

I'm not sure what you mean by "derailed".

Try putting it in an orbit around the sun.

The bug is special to Nvidia MX cards. So if you own one, there is obviously nothing that can be done except following seldens advice.

I meant quite literally setting it in ONE permanent spot.
But I dont know if that can be done.

I'll do the sun thing and report back.

Maxim,

Unfortunately, although not so serious as on MX cards, this same problem is seen with GF6600GT cards, too. :(

Did you try a different render path with CTRL-V?
