New Horizons Mission Website:

Its in the right column of the website.

"Here`s your chance to join the first mission to the last planet! The names entered on this website will be recorded onto a special compact disc, wich the new horizons team plans to mount on the spacecraft before its historic journey toward Pluto and beyond"

Once you submitted your name you will be presented a certificate wich you can print.

Anybody submitted his name yet?
Please let me know.

After some research i found out that there were also cd`s like this on the opportunity and spirit craft on mars and the deep impact spacecraft carried one to.

I found some images of the actual mounting of the disc on the deep impact mission craft

Image

"Richard Minkler is placing the CD rom with over 625,000 names on the Impactor spacecraft. Note what looks like a telephone cord that is attached to his wrist. It is a grounding cable to prevent electro-static discharge between him and the spacecraft. Such a discharge could be disastrous to sensitive electronics."

"The CD holding over 625,000 names from the Send Your Name to a Comet campaign is mounted on the impactor."

And i found these of the mars mission dvd onboard spirit and opportunity.

"The red arrow above points to one of the DVDs containing the 3,551,645 names that are being sent to Mars on both of the Mars Exploration Rover landers. "
