Celestia does not work

It seems I'm the only one who has got problems using Celestia. This weekend I was going out so I decided to install Celestia in my portable PC, and an annoying Celestia has caused a problem message appears every time I try to run it. I'm running a registered Windows XP home OS, PIV 3Ghz 512 RAM ATI Mobile. It's really annoying because in my nephew's portable computer it works perfectly alright, it even records movies, something that I have not managed yet in my other computer (PIV 3,4; 1024 RAM; ATI X600 PCI Express...) Please if anyone reading this could help me.... well .... please .... please ... please.

Try reinstalling it. wipe the hardrive clean of anythin "Celestia" and reinstall it directally from the internet. I had a simular problem when i first started using Celestia. Good luck.

It might help if you told us what the "problem message" is.

However, most errors are caused by having out of date and buggy graphics drivers. You might be able to download an appropriate driver from ATI, but most laptops require drivers from the manufacturer of the system.

first message:

"celestia has detected a problem and must shut down" (I don't know the exact match in English because I'm translating from Spanish)

Then the Microsoft report sent to them says that it is celestia.exe the one that has caused the problem.

Hope this helps to guess what's going on. I'm going to try to re-install it in both computers and then see if in the big one I'm successful in recording movies and in the laptop I get CELESTIA works.

By the way , I don't know if there is any translation into spanish of celestia. I wouldn't mind to collaborate in translating the program or add-ons.... I DO OFFER my knowledge in languages to collaborate with this project, because I'm afraid I don't know a lot about Astronomy, but I'm sure I'll learn with Celestia. TA
