Why is it that when I save a picture from the internet, I cannot use it as a texture in Celestia? I save the picture in textures, then medres, and then my ficticious planet shows up with no texture in Celestia.
PLEASE HELP...
Why wont my textures work?

What sort of texture? What ssc refers to this texture? The dimensions, type and name of the texture involved and what sort of ssc you've created are important to know. Is this for your Dune project?
Yes, this is for my DUNE project, I'll just use an exemple of the planet that it currently giving me trouble. In making the planet Lankiveil, I saved some topographical maps, to my computer, from http://jan.ucc.nau.edu/~rcb7/rect_globe.html. Just how you normaly save pictures: *right mouse*, "save picture as", SAVE. My computer saves pictures from the internet as BitMaps, so, in my photo editing software, I edit the picture until it looks different and cool, etc. Then I save the pivture as a JPEG. But when I put it into my celestia/extras/dune/90 aqr/textures/medres, then I open Celestia, and the planet Lankiveil has no texture.

They must be scaled so that they are a power of two on a side: 512x256 or 1024x512 for example.
Worked like a charm. Thanks for your help.
