Inside the add-on, you will find a file that ends in .ssc. That is called an ssc file and tells Celestia how to load the add-on.

An ssc file is a text file that will open with any text editor such as MS Word Pad or MS Notepad. Using a text editor, open the ssc file and you will find a series of entries showing the objects that are in the StarWars add-on. They should include planets (Tatooine, Endor, etc.,) and spacecraft (DeathStar, Tie fighter, etc.)

The first line of the first entry should say something like:

"Tatooine" "HD 143761", or something like it (there are different versions of the StarWars add-on circulating on the forum, so you might have one of several different ssc files). The star "HD 143761" is where Celestia is going to place Tatooine, and the rest of the StarWars solar system. Make a note of the star's name or number. Close the ssc file and launch Celestia.

After the program launches, press the [Enter] key and a menu will appear. Type the name or number of the star (such as HD 143761), and press [Enter] again. Then press the [G] key to go there. If you typed the number or star name correctly, Celestia will zoom directly to that star. Once there, pull down the "Navigation" menu at the top of Celestia, and select the "Solar System Browser" from the pull-down menu. In it, you will find all of the planets and spacecraft of the entire StarWars add-on. Simply select one of them, click the "go to" button in the menu, and you'll be off to zoom in on that StarWars object. Use the same menu to visit all of the objects.

Hope this helped.

Enjoy

Frank

Hi Frank, what is the web link, now, where whe can load your SW addon (I'm remember you're added some many Ties around the Death Star, for example)... I'm on the way to show in my catalog a lot of picts from a beautiful work-and-progress Star Wars Saga by a great fan who have collected or created and installed dozens of models -soon many packages will be avaible for loading. So, I want to update my SW pages, but I dont know where to link for your proper SW stuff???

I have a problem (I don't know if this is the right thread to do it, tough, ) with the Death star: I jus won't display the texture. It just shows a gray reflectife surface with no details. I've tried half and a quarter resolution from the original jpeg and that's not it. I can see all textures in other add-ons I've downladed. Any toughts?

I have uploaded the complete StarWars add-on to the Motherlode. It includes all of the planets and all of Jean Tag's and Jestr's spacecraft (15 in all), including six tie fighters in orbit around the DeathStar. There is one master ssc file to call them all up. It is called StarWars-complete. Joe, Harry and Ranar should have it up on the Motherlode within a day or two.

Enjoy

Frank
