Hi,
I have found 1.3.2 to be generally better than 1.3.1 and in some cases much better.
I have noticed, however, that a lot of the 3ds objects that i have orbiting stars and planets are looking a little ragged. Panels and parts are transparent/translucent and have what looks kinda like a normals flipping problem - but not quite. In 1.3.1 up to around 1.3.2pre8 or so they are ok - solid walls and looking like they are supposed to in trueSpace 6.6 sp2 which is my studio for 3d. At 1.3.2pre11 (not sure about pre9 and pre10) the anomalies appear. I checked the ChangeLog for any relevant mentionings regarding .3ds objects and found none save this one:
* Improved depth sorting so that hidden surface removal works properly for
overlapping objects
which is the most likely candidate i can find.
Could the addition of the .cmod model type have anything to do with it?
I have tried the 3ds2cmod and cmodfix utilities to convert the object but the problem persists (though i have not tried too many combinations of the cmodfix parameters and will experiment further).
Any ideas?
Thanks,
Sean
ps - forgive me if this has already been posted - lotsa pages to search even with the search tool, which i will also try...
