I am a new user, running Celestia 1.3.1 under Mac OS X 10.3.5. I am having trouble trying to set up the cel URLs to work properly. The users guide notes that one must "register" the cel protocol manually and that one must "see your OP Help menu for how to register an extension." This is not very helpful (even if one assumes that "OP" should be "OS").
I have tried setting the cel protocol using Internet Explorer and using the More Internet preference pane. But the binding of cel with Celestia does not seem to stick, apparently because the Celestia application has no creator code.
Can anyone point me in the right direction here.
Thanks,
Mark

I don?t think this is possible - at least i haven?t found a way.
But, you can copy CelUrls into Celestia from the pasteboard - that works.

I have figured out something at least close to the solution. You need to edit the info.plist file inside the Celestia.app package contents.
Control-click on the Celestia icon and select "Show package contents") Open the file with a plain text editor, (not Property List Editor) and paste in the xml at the end of this message. Then restart your computer.
Or download this file:
http://celestiamotherlode.net/creators/ ... info.plist
and replace the info.plist in you Celestia.app contents dir with it and restart.
Now, when you click on a URL beginning with cel:// or celx:// Celestia will open if it is not already and come to the front, buuut.... that's it. It won't load the script or anything. I am not sure what to do from there, but I would guess that Celestia is somehow not getting the signal that it needs to actually execute the script.
If anybody wants to pick up this search I found much of the info at these places

I changed the actual file by looking inside the Safari package to see how it had everything listed.
Please someone solve this conundrum!
Cheers,
Joe
