Machinima, for those who haven't heard of this latest rage amongst the Geekians and Nerdites, is the art of filming movies within interactive virtual three-dimensional environments. Red Vs Blue (filmed using Halo) is the poster-child for machinima (http://www.redvsblue.com).
While playing around with Celestia I noticed the movie capturing feature. Nice touch by the way! Anyhoo, being a wannabe film-maker (among many other things) thought one might be able to make a short space-movie using Celestia. Even as I am typing this I'm thinking about making a 30 second thinger like in the beginning of the Star Wars movies. Once I finish it, I'll link it up so you guys can see what I mean.

Movies Filmed in Celestia? (AKA Machinima)
A good celestia movie would require at least a scriptboard and a plan for good camera movements and positions.
I, personal, would favor a script driven movie over a simple captured one. But I think the whole idea does require teamwork to have an chance to be realized.
There are some people here who originally came to celestia with the idea of making a movie. I'm curious for quite some time now if that leads to a team project one day.

Ever heard of the movie "Planetary Traveller"? It was done a few years ago using Bryce, it followed this sentient alien ship exploring the universe, looking for a gateway to a higher dimension (IIRC).
It had lots of alien landscapes and trippy sequences, and admittedly got a bit boring after a while, but the story was good. Something like that could be done in Celestia - we have the ability to add spacecraft models and custom textures and scripts after all, all we need is to add a decent story and narration... it'd make a good showcase for the program too.

In my life I've attempted numerous times to pull together a team to something really great, but my interests never last more than a few weeks, or months I'm lucky, so I never really pulled anything through. If anyone out there wants to make a movie using Celestia, I'll be willing to offer my services in whatever way possible, I just need someone to light a fire under my ass first. Space-pun not intended.

It wasn't sold in europe. I tried to import it myself, but that would have - together with the complicated money transfer at these times - tripled the price. So I canceled it. Isn't there anybody out there who could lent me his DVD for some time?

The usual problem of mankind
If there's a team coming together, I would join too - but I'm no storyteller.
