Bad forum performance: bugged software or weird servers?

I am not very long on this Celestia forum ... but what I noticed right away is that the whole forum is soooooooo slow and buggy ....
I have a 3000 Kbps cable connection and this is one of the most slowest sites I encountered?
Plus it keeps on logging me off at random notice? I only click on "New topic" or "Reply" or "Quote" and the next screen, I am logged off?
I really like Celestia but the forum itself (software/hardware) is not really up to date it seems.
Is this just the way it is or is it just something temporarily?

One thing that would explain a LOT about the performance issues on the shatters.net web site, would be if it is being run from someones personal computer through a cable or DSL modem connection -- instead of being located on a web hosting service, which is normally connected to the Internet at very high rates (OC3 for example).

Just a possibility, not a complaint.
