I am running Red Hat Linux 8.0 on an AMD-K7 processor on a Dragon mobo.
I downloaded the file celestia-1.3.0.tar.gz twice. Both times when I gunzip it, I get the following error message: "celestia-1.3.0.tar.gz is not a gzip format file." I have even tried to use WinZip 8.1 and get the same message when trying to view the file's contents (which should be celestia-1.3.0.tar ).
Has anyone else run into this problem?
If more info from me is needed, let me know and I will get back as soon as possible. Since I am a full-time college student and work full-time, please understand if it takes me awhile to get back.
thanks for any help

Why don't you try wether the *.gz has at some point been unzipped (e.g. automatically by your browser)?
rename the file to celestia-1.3.0.tar and do
tar -xvf celestia-1.3.0.tar
see what you get...
