got a few probs.
I downloaded and tried celestia and I must say it's bloody good.
However I saw the plugins and thought that it might be fun to
try a few out.
But I found things were like...
"here's the plugins"
"why thankyou, but what now?"
and indeed there is no explanation
that I could find about what to
actually do with these things to
"make them go".
I downloaded a bunch and unzipped them and plopped files in the
various folders of celestia but
in general nothing seemed to happen.
another problem is that bug that
comes up where you're on "Io"
for example. and at the pulldown
menu you "select object" right click on screen for "go to" and
oops, you're back on "Io".
I find this very frustrating.
oh no, a newbie. a few probs
Wolfie!,
Have you looked at the introductory Users' manual?
Among many other things, it describes how to select objects. An object has to be "selected" (listed in the top left corner of the Celestia window) before any of the action commands will apply to it.
Part 1 of the manual is available in several formats. Links to some of them can be found at http://www.lns.cornell.edu/~seb/celestia/index.html#2.1
Part 2 will describe Add-Ons, but isn't ready yet.
In the meantime, some rudimentary descriptions can be found at
http://www.lns.cornell.edu/~seb/celestia/addon-intro.html
I hope this helps a little.

Sorry to sound patronising, but right clicking on a planet/moon and selecting "Go to" goes to that planet or moon, rather than the one you've selected by typing it in. Try pressing "g" to go to the selected planet.
