Moments ago I just displayed Celestia on my new 23.6" HD monitor. What I'm looking at is absolutely breathtaking!
Anyway...I just had to tell someone.

I attached a "now" image of earth but wouldn't you need my monitor to see what I'm seeing ? Your just going to have to take my word for it 
I will say this, while I haven't had it long, I highly recommend this monitor, it has great contrast and there doesn't seem to be the glare that I get on the other screens in my room.
Also 23.6" seems to be just the right size for the desk. Its a major step up and yet I'm not sure you would want, or need, anything larger. At 2ft and using 1.25 reading glasses, you don't notice any pixelation.(Unless you stop and stare)

And yes, that's right to, the res of my captured images are going to be higher...that's going to be a bonus, but not only when I capture using Celestia.
