Feature request: xyz orbit lines

Post #1by JackHiggins » 29.03.2003, 16:22

I've made an xyz file for sl9 fragment A, from 1600 to 1900, showing how it could have benn captured into orbit around Jupiter. However, when the xyz orbit appears, it looks like this:

When the final version of 1.3.0 comes out, would it be possible to make the xyz orbit lines less "jerky" or whatever, for large files with a long time span? The same happens for the first few years of galileo's and cassini's orbits, close to the sun, and the true shape of the orbit is lost.

I wanted to show how the orbit changes over time after repeated close calls with Jupiter, but they dont show up in the current system. If this could be improved that'd be great!!

Thanks!

Just thought of something else (sorry to be back *again*)

When you click on an object with an xyz file trajectory, only the part of the orbit in the future shows up, and you have to go back to the very start of the xyz to get the full orbit to show. Could this be changed so the full orbit shows?

Thanks!
