Planetary alignment finder

First of all, great program!

I would be very interested to find a way of quickly finding planetary alignments with the sun (and earth) over a given time period. Something similar to the eclipse finder?

Any plans for something like this?

Cheers

I agree: it would be great if Celestia could find occultations of one body by another, including occultations of stars by .SSC objects. An occultation finder that worked for bodies around other stars would be very welcome, too.

In the short term, however, this is an "already solved problem" for our own solar system. A web search will find many tables of these "mutual events".

For example, I used one of the "Project Pluto" (supplier of the "Guide" star chart program) Web pages as a reference when assembling a few pictures of eclipses of one planet by another: http://www.projectpluto.com/mut_pln.htm
