Impossible to get Celestia in french on windows 7

I want to use Celestia in French on my computer with Windows 7 (french computer with french OS), but it is only in English ... Can you help me to install it in French?

Hello John,
I am in Paris, France. The computer is a Samsung notebook and runs with Windows 7 Starter SP1 32 bits. Date and time are on UTC +1. The location is set to France. Keyboard and language to French (France). I tried to uninstall Celestia 1.6.1 and reinstall but it is always the same: he settled in English ...

Hi Philippe,

Please check out the following points :
1- Is the 'locale' directory present in your celestia 1.6.1 installation ?
2- Does it contain the following files : res_fr.dll, fr/LC_MESSAGES/celestia.mo
3- Try to manually set lang to French :

- Copy/paste the following code in a text editor
- Save it into your celestia 1.6.1 base directory as 'celestia_fr.bat'
- Use it to launch Celestia

The Vincent's solution is ok ! All is in French !

John, I do all and more for : controls, copying, demo, guide and start.
I don't find where to put res_fr.dll ? But Celestia is always in English except some inscription in screen

FYI:

This issue occurs only when you install Celestia with a limited user account.
If you install Celestia as an administrator, the localization works fine.

I guess, this is a 'bug' in the user account of Win7.

Just to clarify : I installed Celestia as administrator (right click on celestia-win32-1.6.1.exe --> run as administrator). And the installation gives an English version.
The operating system is win 7 starter (OS for small netbook)

Celestia needs an internal way to change the language.

Also, you should also update your Vista to SP2.
