Tried to install an add on, but am having problems with it..

Post #1by Magnetar » 22.03.2009, 02:15

Not sure which forum I should be posting this in. But I installed the add on for the Star Trek planet of Trill. I did what the read me says that came with the add on, and now when I start Celestia and then type in Trill in the go to thing, the program just crashes. It does that everytime I try to go to Trill. Any planet in our solar system it goes to fine.

Anyone have any idea why it might be doing this or how I might fix it?

It's working for me. Do you have star.dat 2.1c installed?

Yep, have it installed, just keeps crashing everytime I try to go to Trill. And sometimes when Celestia loads Earth is black and white also, no idea why.

You might have some kind of driver problem then.

and is your 3d card a ATI or Nvidia and what model
and what driver . I am betting the one from Microsoft ( the one that is in the auto updates)
that driver is broken by microsoft - on purpose to kill OpenGL
uninstall that driver and install the one on the manufactures web site

Actually I'm on an iMac running Mac OSX 10.4.11.
